Inspired by travel, wind and salt water

Oiysh is a 40 foot, epoxy-kevlar with airex core, Bruce Farr design.
She was build in 1985 in Australia for racing and that is exactly what she did for a long time. From information we gathered seems she actually won Sydney to Hobart in 1986 in her class. Now she is retired and weare trying to bring her back to at least some of her former glory.

Our Story

We met Oiysh and her previous owner in 2018 and the moment we learned she was for sale a spark ignited in us. We started crunching numbers, discussing and trying to figure out how could we make it happen but no matter how much we wanted it we just didn't have the money. With a bit of a sting in the hart we put our old boat for sale but nothing happened and we slowly came to terms with the fact that we simply could not afford her. We refused to go into dept to buy her and dealing with two boats at the same time was out of the question( anybody that has done that and is not a company will tell you it's usually a bad idea). And so we moved on.

Fast forward 2 years we finished an adventure of crewing on someone else's boat and found ourselves split between a choice to do the responsible and sane thing of going back to our old boat or just jumping in head first and trying to go back to the idea of Oiysh.
